Motorpoint Arena Cardiff
Previously known as the Cardiff International Arena, this indoor exhibition and events centre was opened in 1993 by singer Shirley Bassey. It is Cardiff’s largest such exhibition facility, with the upstairs being known as the World Trade Centre. The venue can accommodate up to 7,500 people and has hosted a wide range of artists including Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Metallica and more. The venue also plays host to comedy tours, sporting events and event professional wrestling.
The Moon
This live music house is located on Womanby Street and plays host to a wide range of regular gigs. Visitors can enjoy everything from reggae to hip-hop, bebop and more, including both live bands and regular guest DJs. The venue is a 3 minute walk from Cardiff Castle. With capacity for up to 140 people, the non-profit club also hosts small festivals and local community events around the musical scene.
Clwb Ifor Bach
A local rock club that is focused on homegrown acts. The shows presented here are low key but include big names. Dance music is also featured depending on the day of the week. The venue is only a 3 minute walk from Cardiff Castle. Located on Womanby Street and established in 1983, the venue has been a musical focal point in the city. The venue includes two function rooms as well as three floors of event space and has features artists such as The Killers, Coldplay, The Strokes and more.
