Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art

Part of the national Galleries of Scotland, this location houses both modern and contemporary art from 1900 to the present. The gallery includes over 6,000 unique works including paintings, sculptures, installations, videos, print and more. Major exhibitions are also regularly held on site. The museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm and offers free admission.


Fruitmarket Gallery

This bright and contemporary art space is used for both local and international exhibitions. The space offers an on-site café and bookshop and is located near The Real Mary King’s Close on Market Street. The space was originally built as a fruit and vegetable market in 1938 and has been operating as an art gallery since 1974.


National Gallery of Scotland

Also referred to as the Scottish National Gallery, this art gallery focuses on fine art spanning across both Scottish and international works from the beginning of the Renaissance up to the start of the 20th century. The building of the museum itself is designed in a neoclassical style and was opened to the public in 1859.
